Teachers seek implementation of UGC 7th pay scale

Ludhiana, January 8

Teachers under the Punjab Federation of University and College Teachers’’ Organisations (PFUCTO) held a meeting at PAU today.

Dr HS Kingra presided of the meeting. Teacher representatives decided to launch agitation for implementation of the UGC 7th pay scale, resolution of salary problems of Punjabi University and aided colleges of Punjab, regularisation of teachers appointed after due process against 1925 posts in aided colleges, filling-up of vacancies in universities and government colleges of Punjab, payment of full salary during the probation period instead of consolidated salary and appropriate resolution of cut off date of National Pension Scheme (NPS) through discussion with stakeholders.

Dr Jagwant Singh, general secretary, PFUCTO, said four regional and a statewide rally would be held.
