Members of the 5178 Master Cadre Union, Punjab on Sunday met School Education Minister OP Soni and raised the issue of regularisation of their services with full salary as promised by him last month.

A delegation of teachers met the minister and discussed their issues. They also submitted a memorandum of their demands to the minister and urged him to regularise their services with full pay as soon as possible.

“It is not possible for teachers to run their houses with a meagre salary given to us. We have been waiting for the government response, but nothing has happened. We will keep reminding him of his promises,” said a teacher.

The union leaders also reminded him of the promises made by the minister in the past and resolved to intensify their struggle.

The Education Minister assured the teachers of regularization of their jobs, a leader added. He said, “The issue of their regularisation shall be addressed in the next Cabinet meeting. It could not have been done in last Cabinet meeting due to some reasons. ”

Mangal Singh Tanda and Germanjit Singh were among the prominent present on the occasion.
