Tanda doctor gets prize in conference

KANGRA: Dr Tarun Kumar, a student of post-graduation, Department of Orthopaedics, Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, has brought laurels to his institute and the state by bagging the first prize in free paper presentation in the 38th Annual Conference of North Zone Orthopaedic held in Jammu from February 8 to 10.

Dr Tarun Kumar, a student of post-graduation, Department of Orthopaedics, Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, has brought laurels to his institute and the state by bagging the first prize in free paper presentation in the 38th Annual Conference of North Zone Orthopaedic held in Jammu from February 8 to 10. The conference was focused around the theme ‘Solution to controversies’.

Dr Bhanu Awasthi, principal of the college, said that it was a matter of pride for the department and the institute to have achieved such a distinction.

Dr Kumar had presented his paper on ‘Morphometric analysis of sacral vestibule using computed tomography. The study first of its kind from the Indian sub-continent will have the potential to change the dynamics of surgical interventions in the discipline of orthopaedics. For its novelty, the study was adjudged the best amongst more than 50 other studies presented by participants from all over North India.
