Tamanna in semifinals of junior boxing

ROHTAK: Manipur’s Ambeshori Devi (57kg) and Haryana’s Tamanna (48kg) entered the semifinals to be assured of medals at the 3rd Junior Women’s National Boxing Championships here today.

Manipur’s Ambeshori Devi (57kg) and Haryana’s Tamanna (48kg) entered the semifinals to be assured of medals at the 3rd Junior Women’s National Boxing Championships here today. Ambeshori beat Mizoram’s Naom Chingsannuami 5-0, while Tamanna prevailed over Delhi’s Anjali by an identical scoreline. Joining Ambeshori in the semifinals were her statemates Tingmala Doungel (48kg) and Shagolsem Bijeta Chanu (52kg).  

Also progressing to the last-4 from Haryana were Tannu (52kg), Kirti (57kg) and Khushi (63kg). Kirti and Khushi blanked Andhra Pradesh’s Peddada Kavya and Punjab’s Vishakha, respectively. Chandigarh’s Harnoor Kaur also entered the semifinals. The semi-finals are scheduled for Thursday. — PTI
