Surjit Patar enthralls students at Kala Utsav

Jalandhar: Surjit Patar, poet and writer and singers Pammi Bai and Sukhi Brar enthralled students at ‘Kala Utsav’ — a cultural fest, organised by DAV University, in association with ‘Punjab Kala Parishad’.

Surjit Patar presided over the function. He recited his poems and motivated students to remain optimistic in life. The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Dr Patar.

The students also had an opportunity to witness folk art exhibition besides performance of wedding songs. Conversation through Punjabi proverbs between two opposing groups was also held.

Prof Rakesh Kumar Mahajan, vice-chancellor, DAV University, while welcoming the guests said the Kala Utsav was aimed at promoting literature, folk arts, music, and popularising them among the students. —TNS
