Stepping up its campaign for a probe into the allegations of purchase of substandard medicines by the Health Department, the Congress will submit a memorandum to the Governor, seeking inquiry by a High Court judge.

Addressing a press conference here today, HPCC president Kuldeep Rathore said the allegations of purchase of substandard medicines had been made in a letter doing rounds on the social media.

“The issue is certainly not an internal matter of the BJP as it involves the safety of the public,” he said. The Congress would soon submit a memorandum to the Governor, seeking probe.

He said the focus of the government was on finding out the source of the letter whereas it should have been to get the allegations verified. The Congress did not have faith in a free and fair probe by any agency under the government so the probe must be handed over to a judge of the High Court.

Rathore said the Congress would launch a protest from October 1 in which economists would throw light on the slowdown and its serious fallout. A ‘padyatra’ would be organised here on October 2 in which AICC in-charge Rajni Patil and senior leaders would take part.

The Congress was geared up for the two assembly bypolls and block observers had been appointed.
