Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi today inaugurated the district employment and enterprises bureau at the District Administrative Complex (DAC) here. Some students had to face harassment at the hands of the event organisers as they were called to listen to the speech of the dignitaries but they were neither allowed to meet him nor visit the newly inaugurated office.

Talking to The Tribune, some Class XI and XII students of Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) said, “We were brought here in the morning by saying that a minister is coming, but still sitting at Sewa Kendra and the minister has just left. We had thought that the minister would interact or share his ideas with us.”

However, a senior officer in the district administration said there was a shortage of space, so the minister could not meet or interact with students. “Only a few students could be accommodated in the minister’s event.”
