The state police are hosting a meeting of DGPs of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Rajasthan on Wednesday to formulate better cooridnation in operations against drug smuggling and gangsters.
The meeting would take place at Punjab Police headquarters at noon. Sources said the meeting was organised as many drugs smugglers and gangsters took refuge in another state after committing a crime and coordination between police forces would help checking their movement.
Also, the meeting is likely to discuss preparation against any terrorist movement ahead of the Independence Day celebrations next month.
