In a relief to builders, the state government is set to put in place a new regime for deposit of licence fee for renewal of realty projects.

The Town and Country Planning Department is set to notify the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas (Amendment) Rules, 2019, to put in place the new system.

Through these rules, the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Rules, 1976, will be amended for the benefit of realtors.

Under the new rules, builders will have to deposit 10 per cent of the licence fee for renewal of licence for plotted colonies where completion certificate for part of licensed area has not been issued.

For the renewal of licence in case of plotted colonies, where completion certificate for part of licensed area has been issued, 2.5 per cent of the licence fee shall be levied on area for which the part completion certificate is granted. For the remaining area, the prescribed fee will be levied.

For group housing, commercial, IT/ITes and mixed land use projects, the rate of licence fee will be 10 per cent for renewal of licence where occupation certificate for part of licensed area has not been issued.

For renewal of licence where occupation certificate for the part of the licensed area has been issued, the licence fee has been reworked.

For the remaining area, the prescribed fee will be levied, reads the draft notification issued by AK Singh, Principal Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department. The draft notification has urged various stakeholders to file their their objections and suggestions within one month.
