State committee to deliver social benefits, says Kangar

BATHINDA: Punjab Revenue Minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar on Saturday said the state government was committed to provide benefits of various social welfare schemes to their beneficiaries.

Punjab Revenue Minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar on Saturday said the state government was committed to provide benefits of various social welfare schemes to their beneficiaries.

Kangar presided over a sub-divisional camp organised under the Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna at Bhagta Bhaika grain market in Rampura.

While addressing the public, Kangar said no eligible persons in the state would be deprived of the benefits of social welfare schemes. He inspected 16 counters of social welfare schemes, set up by various departments. He also directed the officials to make sure that no beneficiary faces any problem during the camp.

Kangar said for the betterment of the elders and eligible beneficiaries, these camps would continue in the area as the next camp would also be held at Rampura.

At these camps, various department set up their counters to delivers benefits of social welfare schemes, including Atta-Dal scheme, 200 units of free power scheme, Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana, schemes giving 5 marla plots, the MNREGA scheme, Pradhan Mantri Yojna Jeewan Jyoti Yojna, Atal Pension Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Surksha Bima Yojna. The beneficiaries can avail form for application to these schemes and resolve their issues at these camps.

Before this event, Kangar inaugurated 20-m hi-tech LED lighting system at grain market at Bhagta Bhaika, which had been installed at a cost of Rs60 lakh.

Kangar also handed over a cheque of Rs2.80 lakh to persons who had died at work.
