Startup Punjab in association with Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology organised a “Startup Punjab Hackathon” from August 30 to September 1.
In total, 274 students from various colleges participated in the event to design Information Technology and health solutions. Officials said startups and entrepreneurship have been recognised as a strategic pillar for growth and promotion of the industry as per the Punjab Industrial and Business Development Policy 2017. “The state government through its Startup Punjab cell is focused on bolstering the startup ecosystem.”
Of 54 participating teams, Bug Slayers won the first position and Ceekers stood runner-up. Rubix ranked first in health-focused team and dNiesters were runner-up. The winners won a cash prize worth Rs 25,000 each. — TNS
