Siblings revelry on the ramp
When Anvita Sharma unveiled her label Two Point Two during the Gen Next show at Lakme Fashion Week, it showcased an edgy collection. While the silhouettes had the distinct imagery of the Far East, there were touches of the relaxed sporty look that was striking. The fabrics selection bordered on the popular favourites, so there was 100 per cent Merino wool, cotton suiting, poplin and wool suiting fabrics, along with hand knits and touches of leather for added excitement. Making a stylish entry on the ramp for the show were Bollywood’s talented siblings Huma Qureshi and her brother Saqib Saleem. While Huma looked impressive in loose textured coat, pants and strappy yellow tank top, Saqib strutted down in a black, jacket and yellow printed cowl neck shirt.

Celebrating Odisha
Rasika Dugal, who will soon be seen on celluloid in Nandita Das’ Manto with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has another feather to add to her cap. The girl from Orissa made her debut as a showstopper for an organic fashion label, Vriksh, at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week. Vriksh is a design label that specialises in handloom textiles created by artists based in Odisha, to revive the statement pieces prominent to the state and bring back skilled craftsmanship that reflects the culture of the region. Rasika shares, “I am honoured to be a part of Vriksh’s debut show at the fashion week. I am always moved by the precision and the craftsmanship involved in the art of weaving.”
