Maya Memsaab in print

Punit Balana presented Maya, an ethereal collection which was inspired by the character movie Maya Memsaab. Unveiling the range of ensembles that were modern and classy, abstract prints were teamed with linear shapes, as well as fluid designs, to add drama and intrigue to the collection. Effortlessly blending unstitched expressionism with tailored deconstruction, Chanderi, silk and mulmul were seamlessly merged to create opulent pieces. Showstopper Karisma Kapoor graced the runway in a full skirt white anarkali with an embroidered torso, along with tassels at the back and a sheer printed dupatta.

Remembering Lady Diana

Shehla Khan made an ode to the late Princess Diana with the launch of collection called Diana collection. From pretty pastels, the colour card moved to black with embroidery or ombré touches for lehengas, cholis and dupattas.

Making a show-stopping entry was Bollywood’s talented actor Bhumi Pednekar who walked gracefully down the ramp in a stunning black lehenga, striking, pink sequined choli and a frilled, layered, floor-length cape. Ensuring that the final showstopper was completely different, Shehla invited the very multi-talented Karan Johar to end the women’s fashion show, in a sparkling crystal jacket.

Fitting finale by Shantanu & Nikhil

Every Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale has been iconic due to the sheer grandeur, breathtaking fashion and beauty trends which unfold on the last day of the 5-day fashion extravaganza. And this time it was the ‘Ultimate’ finale, so far, one that truly lived up to its name.

The finale which showcased a stunning collection by Shantanu & Nikhil, was inspired by Lakmé’s beauty theme of Matte Reinvent. The collection was flaunted by the Lakmé Brand Ambassador, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kareena sported a bold red lip shade as she walked the runway in a stunning black ensemble by Shantanu & Nikhil.

The razzle-dazzle

The beautiful actress, Aditi Rao Hydari sashayed down the runway in an ivory Kanjivaram pleated lehenga, with a wide golden border and scalloped dupatta that covered the fitted metallic top, for designer Sailesh Singhania. Actress Lisa Haydon walked the ramp in a glittering, long- sleeved, tiny choli and magnificent lehenga by designer Shriya Som. Soha Ali Khan, graced the ramp as showstopper for designer Neha Agarwal in an all-white ensemble – flared palazzos, a sheer tunic-cum-jacket with a long train all having ruffles, tassels and light embroidery to add texture. Diana Penty, walked in a lehenga by Swapna Anumolu.
