He is the Indian cricket team’s latest poster boy. And Hardik Pandya’s confidence and exemplary batting skills have won as many hearts as he has broken. Being someone who has gone through several battles to become a star player of his team, Hardik’s love for the sport reflects in his choices in life too.

His Vadodara home reveals his passion for the sport and the ‘boys in blue’.  “I want my room to bleed blue”, is what the cricketer told me when we sat down for our first consultation.

This was the inspiration for creating a room with a blue and white colour combo  to complement the young celebrity’s wiry and audacious personality. A picture of Hardik’s team embellishing the main wall is  juxtaposed majestically with blue and white checks in the background.

The entire penthouse has been designed keeping in mind the preferences and  personality of the all-rounder.

Apart from our mutual love for cricket, we also shared fascination for the contemporary design lines. Which is reflected amply in the living area which has a bold colour palette contrasted with soft neutrals; bare windows; upholstered furniture with natural fibres; smooth floors; bold accessories and addition of textures and patterns to liven up the space.

The rest of the ‘bachelor pad’ has also been created with an earthy palette, soft neutrals, and a deliberate use of textures — all staples of the contemporary design ethos.

The living room furniture is mid-century modern, along with pictures of family and friends adorning the walls.

The entire house has smooth wooden or marble floors, accessorised with rugs in each room.

Earthy palettes with throws of blue and bright yellow give this space an air of royalty and a distinct personality.

The four-bedroom residence has been designed keeping in mind Vaastu compliance to maximise the positivity within the home.

For a person who battles stresses of a highly competitive sport, a calming and stable space was the chief consideration. The colour psychology, wall patterns, furniture placements and even the paintings have been chosen and placed to balance the energies of the entire area and complement the energies of the inhabitants.

A painting of horses adorning the walls of the residence was customised exclusively for the player.

The house gives space its own character, while also making it welcoming.
