Sonepat youth beaten to death in Samalkha

A 28-year-old youth was on Sunday beaten to death in Samalkha while another youth sustained injuries. The police booked seven youths of Kumaspur village of Sonepat district for murder.

The deceased was identified as Sandeep of Kumaspur village in Sonepat district, Ajay of the same village, who had been injured, was admitted to Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College for Women in Khanpur.

Ajay’s brother Deepak reported that Ajay, Ankit and Sandeep went to Samalkha for some work on Sunday.

He said he received information that some persons of his village had attacked them in Samalkha. He stated that after he reached the spot, Ajay told him that Sumit, Lalit, Saurabh, Rampal, Pankaj, Kapil and Sushil beat Sandeep to death.

He reported that they had assaulted his brother and murdered Sandeep due to old enmity. Samalkha SHO Rajpal said a case had been registered. He said the body was handed over to deceased’s kin on Tuesday after postmortem examination.
