BCM boys, Gill village girls emerge champions

LUDHIANA: BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point branch, and Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, emerged champions in the 22nd Junior Ludhiana District Softball Tournament that concluded at Government Smart Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University, here today.

BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point branch, and Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, emerged champions in the 22nd Junior Ludhiana District Softball Tournament that concluded at Government Smart Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University, here today.

In the boy’s final, BCM School thrashed Guru Nanak Model Senior Secondary School, Dholewal, 11-4 to lay their hands on winners’ trophy, whereas in the girls’ section, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, got the better of BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, to lift the title.

In the matches to decide third positions, Government High School, Sherpur Kalan, finished as second runners-up in the girls’ category while in the boy’s section, DAV Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, overwhelmed Teja Singh Swatantar Memorial School 13-2 to secure the third position.

PN Passi, honorary general secretary, Punjab Softball Association, gave away prizes to the position holders.

Coaches Nirmaljit Kaur, Jaspreet Singh and Ranjit Singh, besides other officials were also present at the prize distribution function.
