Bathinda: A woman was seriously injured after her relative opened fire at her at the grain market on Sunday evening. She was taken to the Civil Hospital. Pramila Devi said her husband was mentally upset and her daughter had died. She runs a shop at the grain market. On Sunday, around 5 pm, her nephew Kukku came inside her shop and opened fire at her. Thereafter, he fled from the spot. She said they had joint land at Talwandi Sabo and the accused wanted to take possession of her share too. 3 held with heroin

Bathinda: The police have booked four persons and recovered heroin from them in two incidents. In the first case, the police arrested a person and seized 50 gms of heroin and an Alto car from his possession at the Katar Singh Wala village bus stand. The accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh of Udham Singh Nagar. The police have registered a case against Gurpreet Singh and drug supplier Tarun Kumar of New Delhi at the Bathinda Sadar police station. In another case, the police arrested Ramu Ram and Pala Ram of Harnam Singh Wala village. The police recovered 8 gms of heroin and a motorcycle from them during checking at Dhipali village. A case against them has been registered at the Phul police station. TNS
