SMVDU to start new PG course

JAMMU: The Executive Council of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra has approved the starting of new postgraduate programme in Vedic studies, a programme in journalism and mass communication and new programmes for defence personnel and their families.

The Executive Council of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra has approved the starting of new postgraduate programme in Vedic studies, a programme in journalism and mass communication and new programmes for defence personnel and their families.

The approval was given by the Executive Council, the apex body of the SMVDU, during its 31st meeting chaired by Governor Satya Pal Malik, Chancellor of the university, in New Delhi today.

According to official spokesperson, several important decisions were taken in the meeting. The issues related to research, academics and academic rules were also discussed in detail.

The important decisions regarding the improvement of quality of the academic work and research work were taken by the council under the directions of the Governor.

The Governor observed that the university was poised for the next expansion of academic programmes and approved the starting of new programmes which would lead to more opportunities for the young students of J&K.
