Shot in the arm for Cong as BJP councillor joins party

HOSHIARPUR: The Congress got a shot in the arm when BJP Councillor Ranjeeta Chaudhary, along with her colleagues from Ward Number 11, joined the party.

The Congress got a shot in the arm when BJP Councillor Ranjeeta Chaudhary, along with her colleagues from Ward Number 11, joined the party. Cabinet Minister Sunder Sham Arora welcomed Ranjita Chaudhary in the Congress.

Ranjeeta had been elected as the councillor twice in a row on the BJP ticket. Several dignitaries from her ward, including grand son of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Advocate Sukhwinderjit Singh Sangha also joined the Congress.

Arora said the development of the city was being ignored by the BJP- Akali Dal-led corporation but it will not last for long.

He said: “The Congress welcomes and respects the hard-working leaders and workers and they are joining Congress.”

Arora asked Ranjita Choudhary to make a list of the works which were pending in her ward so that all works could be completed to provide relief to the residents.

Ranjeeta Chaudhary, along with her husband Narinder Chaudhary, son Vikrant Chaudhary, Nirmal Singh, grandson of Bhagat Singh, Sukhwinderjit Singh Sangha, Chaudhary Baldev, Master Bal Kishan, Aarti Chhabra, RK Seth, Karamjit Singh, Harpreet Singh, Harbans Singh and Kamal also joined the Congress.

Ranjeeta said “With the efforts being made by Sunder Sham Arora and the projects approved by the government for the development here, the city shall become number one.”

Shadi Lal, Manmohan Kapoor, Anil Kumar Sonu, Sunish Jain, Gulshan Rai and Gurdeep Katoch were present.
