Advocate Shiv Kalyan of Samrala, who was serving as in charge of Lok Sabha halka Fatehrah Sahib, has been appointed state secretary of the BSP by the party high command. The appointment has been made by BSP supremo Mayawati on the recommendations of state president Rashpal Singh Rajuand and Punjab and Chandigarh in-charge Randhir Kumar Beniwal.
Newly appointed secretary Shiv Kalyan assured the party leadership that he would work hard for strengthening the party in the state. A number of local leaders of the BSP, including Dalbir Singh Mandiala, Jaspreet Singh, Baldev Singh Mand, Satish Kumar, Pawan Mattu, Lakhvir Singh Kharkhana and Gurpreet Singh Harion welcomed the decision. — OC
