Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Education Director Jatinder Singh Sidhu and SGPC member from Himachal Pradesh Daljit Singh Bhinder today allegedly entered into a scuffle in the presence of SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal, reportedly over ignoring the hill state over education institutions.

The SGPC employees, however, prevented the situation from turning ugly by stopping the two, following which Sidhu left the gurdwara.

Bhinder alleged that the education director manhandled him. Sidhu and Longowal, however, feigned ignorance.

The incident took place when Longowal and other SAD leaders, including MP Prem Singh Chandumajra, visited Parivar Vichhora Sahib gurdwara on the concluding day of the Shaheedi Jor Mela.

According to sources, when Longowal sat in his car to leave the gurdwara, both Sidhu and Bhinder exchanged heated words.

Bhinder told Longowal that his area was being “ignored” by the education director, following which Sidhu and Bhinder entered into a scuffle.

When SGPC members came in between, Sidhu immediately sat in Longowal’s car and locked the door.

Bhinder alleged that he was standing near Longowal’s car when Sidhu reached there and pushed him repeatedly.

Denying any such incident, Sidhu said he did not even know Bhinder by face. He, however, claimed that Bhinder had talked to him on hone over problems of his area. Longowal also denied that any such incident happened.
