SGGS hoopsters lift Cagers Cup

Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) College, Sector 26, drubbed hosts Chandigarh University, Gharuan, 68-24 to win the Inter-University Cagers Cup here on Monday.

Jatin alone scored 26 points for SGGS, while Abhishek (14) was the top scorer for Chandigarh University.

Jatin was adjudged Player of the Tournament for scoring 88 points in the championship.

Earlier in the semifinals, Chandigarh University registered a 61-50 win over their B team. Abhishek and Saransh added 21 points each to the winners’ tally.

SGGS, on the other hand, downed Panjab University 77-63. Amit scored 48 points for SGGS, while Jaipal added 15 points to their tally.

Panjab University, meanwhile, beat Chandigarh University B team 65-43 to claim the third position. Dildar scored 17 points for Panjab University, while Gaurav (21) was the top scorer for Chandigarh University B team.
