Mumbai, February 14
Aaditya, son of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, will be one of the main campaigners for the party in the Lok Sabha poll.
According to party leaders, the younger Thackeray, who is articulate in English, Hindi and Marathi, will be the face of the Shiv Sena during the campaign.
Thackeray (28), who heads the Yuva Sena, has been part of the party’s decision-making team for the past few years and is also said to be short-listing candidates for the poll.
Meanwhile, the party leadership is considering a demand from a section of the Shiv Sena cadres that Aaditya contests either the Lok Sabha or the Assembly elections due later this year. Posters have come up in different parts of Mumbai hailing Aaditya as the voice of the Marathi youth.
At a meeting of the party’s elected representatives recently, several Members of Parliament from the Shiv Sena demanded that Aaditya be fielded from one of the party’s safe seats in Mumbai. — TNS
