Chandigarh, February 4

The residents of Sector 47-D (LIG, MIG, HIG) houses, under the leadership of Sandeep Bhardwaj, General Secretary, Chandigarh Congress, protested against the sewer pipelines being laid down by the MC contractor.

The residents said they had already given in writing to the area councillor not to dig the front side of their houses as buildings might get collapsed due to the unwanted sewer work.

They alleged that the pipelines were being laid down despite the fact the there was no need for them. The area residents in a letter to the commissioner asked him to direct the officers to stop the work and misuse of fund.

Sandeep Bhadwaj said a letter was sent to the MC Chief Engineer also, but no action had been taken so far. He said he also told the officials concerned to check the quality of material being used by the contractor.
