Scooterist dies in hit-and-run

Dera Bassi, May 8

A 50-year-old man was killed when his Activa scooter was reportedly hit by an unidentified vehicle near Bhankarpur village on the Chandigarh-Ambala road here today.

The deceased has been identified as Masood Ali, a resident of Chandigarh.

Sources said the victim was going towards the Dera Bassi side when near the railway overbridge, a vehicle heading in the same direction hit his scooter. The injured Masood was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. — OC
