50th Partille Cup

Ludhiana: Students of Amrit Indo-Canadian Academy have added another feather to their cap. As many as seven students will be taking part in an international tournament, 50th Partille Cup, to be held in Sweden from July 1 to 6.

Ludhiana: Students of Amrit Indo-Canadian Academy have added another feather to their cap. As many as seven students will be taking part in an international tournament, 50th Partille Cup, to be held in Sweden from July 1 to 6. Students who would be representing India are Gursimar Kaur and Harshpreet Kaur of Class X, Jaismine Kaur of Class VIII, Mandeep Kaur, Parneet Kaur and Jaspreet Kaur of Class XI and Jaskaranpreet Kaur of Class XII. Principal Jaskiran Kaur congratulated the team members and their coach, Arvinder Singh, who had been working hard on the team. Navjot Singh, director of the school, and Harminder Singh, president, wished the team good luck.

Vertical garden inaugurated

A vertical garden drive was inaugurated at USPC Jain Public School, Chandigarh Road. More than 1000 saplings were planted by staff and students. The school has also come up with a unique idea of converting old plastic waste into recyclable planter vases. USPC Jain Public School became the first school of the area to have developed a vertical garden. Binay Kumar Jha, IT Commissioner, and Rohit Mehra  had contributed to the project. They stressed on the idea that a vertical garden would help in reducing air pollution and controlling plastic waste. TNS
