Taniya Mehra of Class IX of Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28-B, Chandigarh, represented the Chandigarh Football Association in the Khelo India School Games which were held recently in Pune. The team played their matches against Manipur, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

AKSIPS-45, Chandigarh

To ensure safety, a first-aid workshop was organised at AKSIPS-45 Smart School for students of Class VIII. The school doctor told the students about first aid, its rules and importance. Various bandaging methods and the CPR were demonstrated.

AKSIPS-41, Chandigarh

Students of AKSIPS-41 observed road safety week to create awareness about traffic rules and regulations. An essay writing activity on road safety was held for Classes VI to VIII. A special assembly was organised to enlighten the students and staff about their duty to obey the traffic rules.

Gurukul Global, Chandigarh

Students of Gurukul Global School visited the GMCH, Sector 32, on an educational excursion. Students widened their knowledge as they got a chance to see the body organs of human beings. They were apprised of some of the deadly diseases such as rabies and cancer and how they affect body organs.

Maharishi Dayanand Vidayalaya

To create awareness among students about the importance of oil and gas, various activities were organised on the premises of Maharishi Dayanand Adarsh Vidayalaya. Students keenly took part in a poster-making competition, declamation and slogan writing competition. A rally was also organised.

DAV School, Panchkula

Soutrik of Class II of DAV-8, Panchkula, stood first in the Weightlifting (25-30 kg) Interschool Open Tournament. In another event, Tricity Karate Championship, Soutrik was awarded the second place in the 20-25 kg weight category.

Ryan International, Chandigarh

Harleen Kaur and Sukhmani Sahota of Class XI of Ryan International School, Chandigarh, were part of the U-19 National Girls Lawn Tennis Team which won the trophy at the 64th National School Games Lawn Tennis Championship held in Mumbai. The Principal congratulated the winners on their achievement.

SKY World, Panchkula

Students of SKY World School achieved the international rank in SOF- International English Olympiad. Agamya Garg of Class I got the 10th international rank whereas Tanzil Mahajan of Class II was ranked 18th. Furthermore, Kanishk Goyat and Piyush of Class II got the 21st international rank. Arshia of Class I was declared the city topper in NSTSE- 2019 with an all-India rank of 486 and state rank eighth. 

Aanchal International, Chandigarh

An activity in the form of PowerPoint presentation on Safer Internet Day was conducted at Aanchal International School to promote the safe and responsible use of technology. The presentation depicted pros and cons of using Internet. 

AKSIPS-65, Chandigarh

A certificate of appreciation was presented to AKSIPS-65 Smart School for being an active partner with Mission Salamti, a road safety awareness programme. Theme related workshops and seminars were organised for students and teachers.

To honour and appreciate the achievers, an annual prize distribution function was held with zeal and enthusiasm at St Joseph’s School, Chandigarh. Ragandeep Siddhu, an alumni, was the chief guest. tns
