Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh

The Primary Wing of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, celebrated annual parents' day. RK Saboo, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra, presided over the function. A humourous play, 'Jootey ka awishkar', based on Rabindranath Tagore's poem received thunderous applause. 

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, celebrated Vijay Diwas to pay tribute to the Armed Forces for their victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war. Col Tejinder Singh Pall was the chief guest. Ex-servicemen talked about about sacrifices made by the Armed Forces. The mystical martial tunes of military band filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour. 

Stepping Stones

Students of Classes I to V of Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, participated in a fun-filled camp near Siswan Dam. Various activities were organised which kept students busy. The day started with a tug of war. Rides and games enthralled one and all. 

Satluj Public School

An Inter-School Group Song and Group Dance Competition-2018 was organised by Saraswati Kala Sangam at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula. Director-Principal Krit Serai presided over the function. As many as eight schools participated in the event.

AKSIPS-45 

Students of Classes VI to VIII of AKSIPS-45 Smart School, Chandigarh, along with their teachers, visited Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala. At the Science City, they were made abreast of the various inventions in the field of science.

St Xavier’s 

St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, organised its annual event, ‘St Xavier’s Staff Cricket League-2018, wherein around 40 women and 45 men players from all four branches of St Xavier`s participated. 

Aanchal International School

Aanchal International School, Chandigarh, organised a baby show in which around 250 to 300 children from tricity participated. Little ones were given various titles, including ‘Aanchal Prince’ and ‘Aanchal Princess’. 

DC Model 

Panchkula Elite Lions Club gifted blazers to EWS students of Class VI of DC Model Senior Secondary School, Panchkula. Principal Usha Gupta expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries and thanked Dr KC Jain for rendering time to time help to these children. 

MRA Modern Public School

Students of MRA Modern Public School, Sector 7, Panchkula, presented a cultural extravaganza. Principal Uma Kapatia welcomed the guest of honour, Dr RC Chandna. Folk songs and bhangra were performed by students.

Small Wonders

Small Wonders School, Phase V, Mohali, celebrated their annual day ‘Musical Munchkins’. Tiny tots presented songs, prayers and rhymes. Principal Herdip Nama said singing had a huge impact on children of this tender age as it helped in the development of their language skills.

Govt school, Mani Majra 

A seven-day NSS camp has been started by the volunteers of Government Senior Secondary School, Mani Majra Town, Chandigarh. The camp was inaugurated by State Liaison Officer Bikram Rana under the supervision of programme officers Dr Shashi Kumar and Satyender Singh. 

Chandigarh Public School

Chandigarh Public School, Baltana, organised its annual science exhibition. Dr Inderpreet kaur, senior scientist in Scientific Instruments Organisiation (CISO) was the chief guest. Students of Classes III to VIII participated in the exhibition. Working models of earthquake alarm, washing machine, fountain, hydraulic bridge, electric boat, electric circuit, rainwater detector, water dispenser, torch and electric sharpener were prepared by students.
