AKSIPS-45 Smart School

Chandigarh: With the ongoing Founder’s Week Celebration of the AKSIPS Group of Smart Schools, an inter branch thematic skit competition was held at AKSIPS-45 Smart School. Teams from all branches of the AKSIPS group came up with innovative skits which were a blend of dance, drama and music. All skits highlighted various social evils prevalent in society. AKSIPS-41 Smart School team won the first prize, AKSIPS-45 Smart School and AKSIPS-65 Smart School bagged the first and the second runners-up positions, respectively. The consolation prize was awarded to AKSIPS-125 Smart School. 

Shishu Niketan      

Chandigarh: Students of Shishu Niketan Model Sr Sec School, Sector 22-D, Chandigarh, celebrated 'Akshay Urja Divas'. Stressing the importance of conserving renewable sources of energy for future, a number of activities were organised on the occasion for different classes. The activities included slogan writing for Class VI, poster making for Classes VII and VIII and essay writing for Class XI and XII. To mark the occasion, students of Class X took out a rally in Sector 22-D area, sensitising public about the use of various energy resources. 

St Joseph’s Sr Sec School     

Chandigarh: In order to kindle the flame of patriotism among the students, the primary II block of St Joseph’s Sr Sec School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh, conducted kite making, folder making and face painting competitions for Classes III, IV and V, respectively. Principal Monica Chawla appreciated the efforts of the students and said in order to maintain sovereignty and integrity of a country, it is essential to apprise the younger generation with about importance of the struggle of our freedom fighters. 

KB DAV Sr Sec Public School     

Chandigarh: KBDAV-7, Chandigarh, organised a science-cum-art and craft exhibition at BS Bahl Multipurpose Hall on the theme 'The popularisation of science through sustainable development, energy and resources.' Dr RS Khandpur, Former Director General, Pushpa Gujral, science city and veteran of education field, Madhu Bahl, regional director and founder principal, were the guests on the occasion. Students from Classes VI to XII made a stunning display of their innovative projects and models based on various themes of mathematics, science, social science, ICT and art and craft.  

AKSIPS-41 Smart School     

Chandigarh: A self-defence training session for girls was conducted by the Chandigarh Traffic Police at AKSIPS-41 Smart School for Classes VIII to X. Students were given tips on how to defend themselves at the time of emergency. Some tips on healthy diet and importance of exercise for girls were also shared by the trainers. They were briefed about how to defend themselves in different situations and were taught the strokes required to defeat the opponent.

Aanchal International School     

Chandigarh: Students of Aanchal International School were sensitised towards the need to protect the environment from the harmful effects of plastic. Various learning activities like poster making, paper bag making from waste materials and banner-making activity were conducted on the theme ‘Say no to plastic’ to showcase the impact of using plastic.

Delhi Public School     

Chandigarh: Zonal finals of the 3rd edition of its national psychology quiz programme ‘PSYCH-Ed 2018’ was held at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Shreya Seth, Mannat Brar and Prathama RK from Delhi Public School (DPS), Sector 40, Chandigarh, battled other schools in the zone to enter the national finals. More than 36 students from 12 schools from the region participated in the quiz show.

Bhavan Junior      

Chandigarh: Students of Classes IV and V of Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior participated in the English one- minute speech competition. The first prize was bagged by Naksh Chadha and Adaa Mohan of Class V, the second prize was won by EKam Sandhu of Class V and the third prize went to Rian Makkar of Class V and Saniya Vohra of Class IV. Garvit Bhamba of Class IV and Medha Gupta of Class V were given the consolation prize.

Sharda Sarvhitkari School     

Chandigarh: Akshay Urja Diwas was celebrated by Prayas Sarvhit science club at Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Sr Sec School, Sector 40-D, Chandigarh. Students took part in poster-making, slogan-writing and essay-writing competitions. A skit was performed by the students of Classes IV and V on the theme 'Save energy’ in the morning assembly. A special PPT presentation on sun energy was given by science teacher explaining the importance and use of sun energy. — TNS
