Abohar, November 21

Members of the Recognised and Affiliated Schools Association (RASA) have flayed the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) for increasing fee for practical exams and online registration charges by about 35 per cent.

A deputation of RASA headed by its state vice-president Sham Lal Arora met PPCC president Sunil Jakhar at his residence here and shared the problems that they were facing due to “arbitrary” directives issued by the PSEB.

They said the Education Department had directed the private school managements to not enhance more than 8 per cent annual fee, but no restrictions were applicable on the PSEB.

Arora said online registration for annual exams for Class V students beginning November 22 had been fixed by the PSEB at Rs 250. The board had directed managements of private and private-aided schools to pay hefty amount for setting up examination centre and the ad hoc affiliation will be valid for the current academic year only. The fee structure for Classes VIII, X and XII exams to be conducted by the PSEB had also been irrationally revised, they rued and sought Jakhar’s intervention to redress their grievances.
