Director General of Police Shesh Paul Vaid has granted scholarships of Rs 11 lakh in favour of 195 children of police personnel. The scholarships have been granted out of the Central Police Welfare Fund for the academic year 2017-2018.
A police spokesman said Rs 5.32 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 104 Class X students and Rs 5.68 lakh for 91 Class XII students for securing 80 per cent and above marks in their respective examinations during the academic session 2017-2018.
“These wards include 106 girl students of the two classes,” he said.
Students of Class X securing above 90 per cent marks are granted scholarship of Rs 6,000 and the students with 80 per cent and above marks are granted Rs 4,000 each.
Similarly, the Class XII students securing above 90 per cent marks are given Rs 7,200 and the children with 80 per cent and above marks are given Rs 6,000 each to boost their talent in studies.
