Samrala residents pay tributes to martyrs

A candle march was organised at Samrala by social organisations with the help of residents of the town against terrorism.

They demanded stern action against terrorists and expressed their solidarity with the families of 44 CRPF martyrs. The march was led by Samrala Social Welfare Society president Gagandeep Sharma and Beopar Mandal president Deepak Kumar.

They demanded from the Modi government to take revenge for this cowardly act.

The march passed through main bazaars of Samrala and the participants paid tributes to the martyrs by lighting candles.

Sushil Shukla, Rajinder Tondan, Kuldip Otal, Indresh Jaidka, Raj Tandon, Tarsem Kumar Sharma and others participated in the march.

Halka-level meeting of SAD held

A halka-level meeting of SAD was organised at Samrala under Halka in-charge Santa Singh Umaidpuri in which the proposed visit of SAD president on February 22 at Samrala was discussed. At the beginning of the meeting, Umaidpuri and former MLA Kagjiwan Singh Khirnia, along with the gathered workers paid tributes to martyrs by observing a two-minute silence.

The meeting decided to make a big gathering to welcome party president and said SAD had a stronghold in the area. Youth President Barjinder Singh Bablu Lopon, Baba Jagroop Singh Sahnewal, Joginder Seh, Giani Mohinder Singh Bhangla and a number of other leaders of the area were present during this meeting.
