Bathinda, February 6
Miscreants looted Rs 40,000 at gunpoint from a Reliance petrol pump located on the Rama-Talwandi road on the outskirts of Rama Mandi on Wednesday night.
As per information, four persons came on a car at petrol pump around 12.05 am last night and pointed gun at a worker and took away Rs 40,000 from his bag.
After getting the information, SHO (Rama) Manoj Kumar along with his team reached the spot. The police have taken CCTV footage from the petrol pump and started tracing the accused. Till evening, the police failed to get any clue regarding the miscreants.
SHO, Rama police station, Manoj Kumar said, “Four persons looted Rs 40,000 at gunpoint from the petrol pump worker at Rama Mandi. After registering a case, police teams are working to crack the case.”
It is pertinent to mention that incidents of snatching are on the rise as earlier on January 21, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a bag containing around Rs 11 lakh from two employees on the Bathinda-Barnala highway in Rampura. Though the entire incident was recorded in the CCTV cameras, the police have failed to crack the case.
On January 5, three unidentified persons snatched a bag containing cash and a tab from a person at Mari village. In his complaint, Nardev Singh, a resident of Charthal village, told the police that three unidentified persons came in a car and snatched a bag containing Rs 1.34 lakh, a tab and a receipt of a machine from him.
