Jalandhar, February 7

Assuring the party that he would do his best to help resolve the issues and concerns of the Punjabis settled abroad, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kishan Singh Rori today thanked his party’s national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab unit chief and Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann and the party’s core committee for appointing him as the chief of the NRI wing of the Punjab unit.

Assuming charge of the wing, Rori said the NRIs from the state had always batted for the issues and concerns of Punjab and the Punjabis and hoped the community would continue to support the cause in future too.

The AAP leader said his party would take up the issues of properties occupied in an unauthorised way or usurped by the mafia.

Lauding the efforts of the state unit chief MP Bhagwant Mann, Rori said he would continue to fight for the rights of Punjabis settled abroad and would try to resolve the long-pending issue of NRI brides whose grooms never returned after solemnising their marriages.

He said the Punjabis had supported the Aam Aadmi Party in the 2014 and 2017 elections leading to a historic win with massive mandate and hoped the party would garner the goodwill again in the ensuing elections.
