Robbers strike at battery factory

HISAR: A gang of nearly 15 robbers took away cash and other goods worth Rs 20 lakh from a battery-manufacturing unit located on the Kharar road near Hansi on Saturday night.

A gang of nearly 15 robbers took away cash and other goods worth Rs 20 lakh from a battery-manufacturing unit located on the Kharar road near Hansi on Saturday night.

The police said that the accused entered the factory by scaling the wall and held all workers and watchmen hostage in a room and snatched their mobile phones.

Later, a canter arrived in the factory and the robbers loaded valuable goods used in battery manufacturing in the vehicle.

They also took away nearly Rs 1.5 lakh lying in the office. The CCTV cameras and computers were also taken away by the robbers. The robbers remained in the factory for nearly four hours.

On getting complaint, DSP Aryan Chaudhary led a police team to the factory and started investigation.
