Despite having the highest number of councillors of his party, the General House meeting of the Municipal Corporation always proves to be challenging for BJP Mayor Davesh Moudgil. Interestingly, it is not the Congress councillors, who are only 4 in number, who bother Moudgil but he faces opposition from the councillors of his own party in House meetings. It also happened in the House meeting held last week when some of the councillors targeted him over an agreement he signed with door-to-door garbage collectors.

No more panchs, sarpanchs

A city that has come up on the land acquired from villagers will no longer have panchs and sarpanchs. The Administration has finally decided to merge all villages in the Municipal Corporation limit. Now, the villages will be represented by councillors. While villagers are waiting to see the development in the villages after the move, there are several politicians who are not happy with the decision as they will no longer contest for the posts of panch or sarpanch.

Confusion among INLD workers

Confusion prevails among workers of the Indian National Lok Dal as both groups were claiming that they have the upper hand in the state’s politics. Recently, some of the party office-bearers had resigned in support of MP Dushyant Chautala, son of Ajay Chautala, who had parted ways with his brother Abhay Chautala. However, Abhay group leaders were claiming that these persons did not have any say. But the meeting held by KC Bangar on Sunday, in which a large number of party activists had participated, had raised concern among the party supporters as to which direction the INLD was heading.
