Leading gynaecologist Kapil Malhotra (44) died of cardiac arrest here today. He was posted at zonal hospital, Mandi. Entire medical fraternity of the district has expressed shock over his death.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur expressed condolences to the family of the deceased. Dr Malohrta had conducted 16,000 gynae operations and nearly 3 lakh deliveries during his 21-year career in medical service.
Recently in December, he successfully removed a 21-kg tumour from the ovary of a 56-year-old woman of Sarkaghat at the Mandi Regional Hospital. Jeevanad Chauhan, Chief Medical officer Mandi said, “The death is a huge loss to the medical fraternity and the people of the district and state. Dr Kapil was honest and hardworking and had expertise in his field.” — TNS
