Relief sent for Kerala flood victims

The Ambala district administration on Monday flagged off a truck carrying relief material for the Kerala flood victims. The truck was flagged off by City Magistrate Sushil Kumar.

Deputy Commissioner Sharandeep Kaur said the truck had been sent to Delhi, from where the material would be flown to Kerala.

The material comprised 450 blankets, 800 bed sheets, 560 ‘dhotis’, 600 sarees, 40 nets, 205 buckets, 300 kitchen sets and 100 pairs of slippers.

She appealed to the public to help the administration in collecting relief material. The material could be submitted at the District Red Cross Society office.

The Congress set up a camp to collect relief material for flood victims in Ambala Cantonment. Party leader Nirmal Singh said the camp would remain open till Tuesday night.
