Amritsar, June 5
Activists of the Dal Khalsa, association with the SAD (Amritsar), on Wednesday took out a ‘genocide remembrance parade’ in the holy city on the eve of 35th anniversary of Operation Bluestar.
Activists, led by its youth leader Paramjit Singh Mand, carried photographs of damaged Golden Temple and Akal Takht and those killed in the Army action.
Carrying saffron flags and placards, the participants marched from Gurdwara Ranjeet Avenue, passed through major lanes of the city and concluded the rally at Akal Takht after performing prayers. The protesters also raised pro-Khalistan slogans.
SAD (Amritsar) leader Eman Singh Mann, whose party extended support to the march, said the basic issue was fulfillment of the political objective for which the struggle was launched.
