AS K replaces C in coffee, the brew becomes a tonic for success. Or even better, an acknowledgement of success, a stamp that one has arrived in the glam zone of Mumbai.

Arrive they did, long time back — both Diljit Dosanjh and Badshah, both Punjabi, by nature and birth. So, with the boys on the couch marking their debut on Koffee With Karan, asking for witty answers, fun and one liners is actually not asking for much.

Diljit, who is currently shooting for an upcoming Bollywood project Good News, calls his experience a joy ride. “I was aware of the show and its format, and also of the fact that we would be asked all sorts of questions. I told myself that I had to talk less and avoid any kind of controversy. I didn’t want to hurt anyone with my remarks,” shares Diljit, who says he has totally been himself on the show. “Mainu taan aini angrezi andi nahi, so ikk-addha question miss ho gaya.”

Rapper Badshah, on the other hand, is pretty comfortable. “Koffee With Karan is a place where one can expect unexpected revelations. It’s actually a platform where you can speak your mind without trying too hard to be politically correct,” adds Badshah and calls the ‘Who knows fashion brands better’ as one of his favourite rounds. “Both Diljit and I were neck-to-neck in this round and gave each-other a good fight. We do know our fashion well, you see.” Adds Diljit, “We both are gung ho about fashion; most of the times, we end up discussing clothes and shoes.”

Almost all Bollywood celebrities who have appeared on the show have fought for the gift ‘hamper’ awarded at the end of the rapid fire round. While the two don’t reveal who won it among them, the invitation to the show is a matter of pride for them.

“I am glad Karan Johar invited us on the show, but I had come completely unprepared, which is why when Karan sir asked me, ‘Have you ever made out in a car or khet,’ I was taken aback. No one has ever asked me this question. Had I known this question was coming, I would have asked them to change it,” Diljit adds.
