Bathinda: AAP MLA from Talwandi Sabo Prof Baljinder Kaur got married to party's youth wing leader from Majha Sukhraj Singh Bal in a religious ceremony at Jagah Ram Tirath village here. AAP senior leader Sanjay Singh, MP Bhagwant Mann, Congress MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and some MLAs from Delhi attended the ceremony. Residents of the Talwandi Sabo are, however, in a dilemma over their MLA's residential status post marriage. They are worried that if the MLA shifts to Amritsar to her husband's place, who will raise their issues. Baljinder is the third AAP MLA, who got married after winning the elections. Last year, Bhadaur MLA Pirmal Singh got married and recently, Bathinda Rural legislator Rupinder Kaur Ruby tied the knot.

Bless me with ticket: Cong man to Soni

Ropar: The visit of senior Congress leader Ambika Soni to the house of Pulwama martyr Kulwinder Singh in Ropar on Sunday proved as an opportunity for a local leader to seek her blessings to get the party ticket from the Anandpur Sahib constituency for the upcoming elections. Soni had contested the previous Lok Sabha elections unsuccessfully from Anandpur Sahib. As soon as she was about to leave the village, the leader approached her and asked whether she was in the fray this time too. However, when Soni gave a negative reply, the leader immediately requested her to bless him with the ticket.

‘Injustice’ to statue of justice

Amritsar: The statue of justice sans scales at the district court complex has become talk of the town. Installed at the car parking for advocates, it is developed and maintained by the Amritsar Bar Association. The white coloured statue installed on concrete pedestal covered with black granite catches the eye of the visitors for this omission. People state that the job of lawyers is to protect the law and it is unethical on their part to ignore the symbol of justice in their backyard.
