The car that fell in Chamera dam lake in Chamba district yesterday remained untraced.

The people involved in the efforts to rescue the car recovered a number plate PB-06 T 2019. The authorities gathered information about the owner of the vehicle from Gurdaspur police. The owner of the car has been identified as Rashpal Singh from Suni Kohal village in Pathankot district.

It was being suspected the car was new having temporary number. SP Kangra, Monika said a few torn cheques were found near the spot.

The owner of the vehicle was located from the cheque book. It was being suspected that there was just one occupant in the car. — TNS
