Chandigarh, December 3

Punjab University has decided to segregate the condonation of lectures in a meeting of a committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor on November 30. The decision came after the Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) president submitted a representation in this regard.

It has been decided to condone 10 per cent lectures by the DSW for participation in cultural fest and other activities, other than 10 per cent lectures condoned by the board of control/chairperson of the department concerned for participation in various activities.

Attendance requirement for all teaching departments, except for departments governed by any regulatory body — Bar Council of India, All India Council for Technical Education, National Council for Teacher Education, Dental Council of India and Pharmacy Council of India — will be 75 per cent in aggregate of all papers. Further, a student will not be required to take prior permission of the chairperson of the department concerned for participation in various activities. The same will be approved by the VC in anticipation of approval of the Syndicate. — TNS
