PSEB official holds meeting with awardee teachers

JALANDHAR: Officials of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) held a meeting with the national and state awardee teachers to discuss strategies, concerning admissions and better academic results in government schools.

Officials of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) held a meeting with the national and state awardee teachers to discuss strategies, concerning admissions and better academic results in government schools.

Director, State Council of Education Research, and Training, Punjab Inderjit Singh was present. The Education Secretary Krishan Kumar addressed the teachers and sought suggestions to bring in quality improvement in schools both academically and in infrastructure.

Disclosing the details of the meeting, a spokesperson of the Education Department said during the meeting a total of 250 teachers from across the state, including the national and state awardee teachers were present.

The teachers who had received state and national honour for their work in schools shared their experiences and motivated the teachers to work for the betterment of the schools.

Education Secretary Krishan Kumar said: “Teachers’ efforts have resulted in the beautification of government schools, but in some schools teachers need encouragement, so the experiences and techniques of the awardee teachers can prove useful to motivate other teachers.”

Secretary, School Education, also asked all awardees to cooperate with the admission campaign for the admission in government schools. He said: “The awardees can work to increase the number of students in schools by sharing their experiences with the parents of the children.”

Teachers addressed the gathering and asked teachers to counsel students every week. They said: “In order to achieve better results during the upcoming examinations, the teachers need to pay attention on students so that they can share their thoughts and discuss problems.”

They said students should be motivated to use Internet to prepare for the exams and be apprised of the benefits of proper timetable and study routine.

Dr Jarnail Singh Kaleke, Dr Devinder Singh Boha and other officials, were also present.
