Ludhiana, January 16

Teachers under the banner of Sanjha Adhyapak Morcha gathered outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Wednesday and protested against the state government for anti-teacher policies.

The Education Department had recently suspended five teachers, after which the SSA/RMSA teachers got together on Wednesday and raised slogans against the state government.

They alleged that these were the pressure tactics of the government, but teachers would fight for their rights and not agree with 60-70 per cent deduction in salaries. Teachers said those raising voice against the arbitrary attitude of the government were being punished.— TNS
