Projects worth Rs 1.5 cr cleared at F&CC meet

In the Finance and Corporation Committee (F&CC) meeting held here today, while seven projects worth Rs 1 crore were declared pending by Mayor Jagdish Raja, projects worth Rs 1.5 crore were cleared.

The projects of replacing tube wells with new ones could not get cleared today as the Mayor asked O&M branch members that if any of the infrastructure of the previously installed tube wells could be reused, to which the officials replied it can’t be reused. To this, the Mayor asked them to give the reply in written.

“I have asked the officials to give a written reply, he said.

Also, the project in which stray animals will be transferred to the Faridkot cowshed has got cleared. Recently, Mayor Jagdish Raja had paid a visit to Faridkot to inspect a cowshed. 

In the proposal, it is said that the stray animals must be transferred to cowsheds that are operated in Shahkot and Faridkot.

In the proposal, it is also mentioned that the officials at the Faridkot cowshed have permitted the transfer of 1,500 animals there. 

According to the proposal, a sum of Rs 32 per animal will be spent in the process.

The Mayor after the meeting said action would be  taken against O&M officials who had failed to produce the records regarding the missing street lights.

Notably, a committee was formed to look into the missing street lights from a 15-km area, starting from Paragpur to Bidhipur in 2015. 

But the officials of the O&M branch could not produce records and stock register in the fifth time in a row.

The members who attended the meeting are Senior Deputy Mayor Surinder Kaur, Deputy Mayor Harsimranjit Singh Bunty and councillors Gian Chand and Guriwinderpal Singh Bunty Nilkanth.
