The Punjab and Haryana High Court yesterday summoned the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Secretary on a petition seeking quashing of a list whereby candidates for PCS (Executive Branch) were shortlisted for physical test and interview allegedly in violation of terms and conditions of the advertisement.

The order by Justice Rajan Gupta of the high court came on a petition filed by Prabhjot Singh Suppal and 10 other candidates. Arguing before the Bench, senior advocate Gurminder Singh, along with Jatinder Singh and Ramanpreet Singh Bara, among other things submitted that candidates three times the number of vacancies advertised were not called for the interview as required. After hearing the arguments, Justice Gupta fixed May 27 as the next date of hearing.
