Mand organises protest march against Badals

Muktsar: Parallel jathedar Dhian Singh Mand along with some Sikh activists on Friday took out a march from Fazilka to Lambi against the Badals and accused them of sacrilege incidents in state during the SAD-BJP regime. The protesters dispersed after assembling near the bus stand at Lambi village. They stopped a few metres before the police naka on the Malout-Delhi national highway. Notably, a few days ago, the Sikh activists had lodged a protest at Badal village, but two factions that time entered into a scuffle. Later, a criminal case too was registered for creating obstruction in duty of cops and attempt to kill them. TNS

First-time voters in Moga to get gifts, certificates                                                     

Moga: Under its special initiative to encourage the first-time voters to exercise their franchise, the district administration of Moga will present them with gifts and certificates at the polling booths. Sandeep Hans, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer (DEO), while addressing a press conference here on Friday said the district administration has taken this unique initiative under the SVEEP with an aim to attract first time voters that they must cast their votes. He said special discount coupons of different restaurants and salons will be given to the senior citizens and people with disability coming to cast their votes. TNS
