Amritsar, December 24

Students of Beyond English academy staged a play titled, Above All, Be Kind, at Punjab Natshala here on Monday. The director of the play, Shalini Succhi, said 50 students were part of the play that was based on creating social awareness regarding being more empathetic.

“The best value one can give to children is empathy. So the play highlighted the importance of being a little kind, doing kind acts everyday to make a change in the world,” said Shalini. The play also roped in bits about caring for environment, nature and animals. “The play was an interactive drama where the audience also got an opportunity to express their point of views on different social topics. We strive to make a connection between compassion and responsibility and through the play, inculcate some values and beliefs into our children,” she said.

This was the 9th edition of Beyond English’s theatre festival. — TNS
