PGGC-46 Principal denied extension

CHANDIGARH:The Principal of the Post Graduate Government College (PGGC), Sector 46, JK Sehgal, whose tenure ended today, was denied extension.

The Principal of the Post Graduate Government College (PGGC), Sector 46, JK Sehgal, whose tenure ended today, was denied extension. This was confirmed by Education Secretary BL Sharma.

An official said the principal had bestowed gifts on a peer team of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) against the ethical standards. The principal had even spent on their food and arranged their stay in a five start hotel.

The team had visited the college on February 6 and 7 for inspection. As per the code of conduct, members of the peer team Members should not accept gifts from any institution or its management before, during or after the inspection. 

BL Sharma, Education Secretary said, “Keeping in view the ongoing inquiry and his overall performance, the extension has been denied.”
